The downside: I officially gained two pounds.
The upside: I did not gain any inches.
Knowing myself, this gain could either be my poor nutrition choices from fair week catching up with me, or it could be from amping up my strength and cardio workouts. I'll be able to tell next week.
In spite of this setback, I feel really good. I jogged uphill for 2 miles this morning. I didn't go as fast or as far as I do on the treadmill, but just being outside is a harder workout, and I took a harder route than I normally would take when I go outside.
I admit I felt really crummy when I weighed in this morning, but I pushed through and ran outside-in the rain-even though I didn't want to. My eyeglasses were a pain, but jogging in the rain was exhilarating and seemed to cleanse me of those negative thoughts I felt this morning.
I am getting stronger and I am building endurance, and I'm not going to let the number on the scale take that away from me.
