good morning! hope all is well with everyone.
man--I don't need weekends like this one very often--it was my own fault and I won't repeat the mistake.
some times I can't relax and fall asleep. the hypno doesn't work and I just lay there and fret and stew. this time I was very upset about a family member who doesn't seem to like me anymore--and I couldn't stop turning things over in my mind. about 2 am I got up and drank a glass of wine.
now--I don't drink as a rule--in fact these rare middle of the night sleep drinks are about all I ever do--and it happens maybe three or four times a year. well I don't know if it was the wine (I just buy whatever is in the sale bin and cook with it in rob's chicken dishes for the most part) or if my stomach was really empty or what--but in short order I got sick. fell asleep finally.
woke up sat. morning and rapidly became sick as a dog. I don't want to get too descriptive, but I haven't had a hangover since my 20's (and then I think I only ever had one once) and this was a hangover on steroids. finally about 1:30 in the afternoon my body sort of got a grip on itself and I was able to make it to the sofa, where I huddled under a blanket the rest of the day. finally about 7 pm I managed some rice and broth and instantly felt better.
the day had been rainy and weird anyway--but it was a wasted day that could have been time to get a lot of chores done.
moral of the story--from now on its warm milk or herbal tea for me. I NEVER want to experience that again!
In happier news--the new chickens are all grown up and beginning to lay eggs.
we have plans to demolish most of our back gardens and re-invent them with fruiting plants. our two kitties who we rescued last year are all grown up--their recent annual visit to the vet was stellar--they were so exceptionally good--spent the whole visit curled up together on the exam table grooming each other and having treats. blabby even fell asleep on the table when little was having his physical. the vet and the tech were both so impressed with how calm and sweet they were--such good kitties!
