Thanksgiving Monday!

Monday, October 07, 2013

So I planned my Thanksgiving dinner (honestly I am making a couple extra things so I can eat healthy) I actually like my ideas better than what everyone else is eating. Hubby will probably eat some of my food. I got under 1400 calories! For a holiday. I was under my high end fat and under my high end carbs! Yippee. That's with a lovely dessert too. I have never been a pumpkin pie person so I won't miss it. Instead I will be having a baked apple sweetened with xylitol (my treat sweetener) and cinnamon then baked, After baking I will have a scoop of butter pecan ice cream (sugar free) and a tablespoon of sugar free caramel sauce doesn't that sound better than store bought pumpkin pie? emoticon

For dinner I will be having 4 ounces of breast meat turkey with no skin, 3/4 cup of my mild rice pilaf, and 1 cup of green beans with 1 TBS real bacon bits. Oh and 1/4 cup turkey gravy! I love this planning ahead. This meal will be awesome! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Your Thanksgiving planning is amazing! I am a fellow Canadian and really haven't thought much about planning my meal yet. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration. emoticon emoticon

Thanks everyone! It helps that I am the one cooking here. I just found out we won't have a large crowd either. I love to cook so I came up with the lovely rice recipe. The turkey is the best part anyway and white meat turkey without skin is soooo good for you! So I will enjoy a full 4 oz of it.

@ RosePetal80 It's OK I forget sometimes too. I don't really care for Thanksgiving in October since I love Halloween so much. I miss my November Thanksgiving. I don't like snow either but I fell in love with a Canadian emoticon emoticon

Sounds delicious. I am going to be at two Thanksgiving dinners next weekend, but I don't plan to overeat at either. For me, it will be about portions. emoticon

You are so wise to plan ahead as you know there will be temptations.... and that's not a problem as long as we consume them in moderation.

Great Thanksgiving planning. I COMPLETELY forgot that your Thanksgiving is in October. I'm definitely going to take what you've done and plan out my plate ahead of time.
