It was a very busy day full of challenges and blessings. Get Up Get Dirty
was very challenging, especially since I got gluten-nuked yesterday and was having some difficulty breathing. Most people earn "badassery badges" in their fitness activities. Today I earned a "Too Poor To Pay Attention" egg on the back of my head because I didn't notice there was a 4" x 4" steel support beam behind me when I laid down to do our end-of-workout stretching. The echo of the contact was more than noticeable and hurt like the bell sound it made. It left quite a sizable knot on the back of my head, which was ebbed by an ice pack and a nap after the class.
My second challenge came when I went to evaluate a young man who needs some assistance with some learning issues. I met him at his house and, as part of the activity, I had him take me somewhere and tell me about it. I had no idea that I would be completing an obstacle course in a very ungroomed forest path in full professional teacher gear and dress shoes clasping a composition book and pen in 1 hand. As we climbed over trees and skirted holes, briers, and moss-laden debris, I was able to do what was needed to give my rough report, but I definitely needed to take my shoes off when we got back to the house.
From there, I got some beautiful texts from a friend and went to my water aerobics class. The class kicked butt and I really enjoyed seeing Amanda and had a great time talking synchronicity with her after class. That was a real blessing.
Now I am ready for bed save for sending one more text and know I will definitely sleep well tonight.
