Saturday's Birthday Party

It has been a busy, few days, but I have managed to stick to my challenge of no diet coke, and no snacking in the evening after my dinner.

I am working on a quilt, that is fall colors, I’m hoping this will keep me busy in the evenings, when I often want to snack. I love the colors, and I have just learned to make this star pattern. I have always enjoyed sewing, but have only recently began to try making quilts. This will be more of a lap quilt I will put it out on my quilt stand for more of a decoration.

I worked on Friday morning, and I usually go and get my “diet coke” afterward. I usually only work a few hours, I’m an RN consultant, so I don’t have to work a full shift, such a blessing, but since I can’t indulge in that treat anymore ( diet soda at BK)…I decided to go healthy…I went to Jamba Juice, and got a fruit smoothie, light, only 170 calories, with vitamin supplement added. This was my breakfast, since I didn't have time to eat before I left for work. It was fruit, yogurt, and My MVs. I really enjoyed it.
Now if they just had WiFi, it would be perfect.

Friday, I spent the day with my mother, she needed to get out of the house for a while, so I took her shopping and to lunch. We ate at Subway, and I had lemonade. Not my favorite drink, but ok.
I had a turkey sandwich, no mayo or oil, just lots of veggies. We did lots of walking, which was good for me and her. She’s 79, and though she walks slow, she can often out walk me…lol

Saturday was the big Birthday Party, and I was curious to see how my sister and daughter would do with their challenge to have NO sweets. I had given up soda, but I could have a small piece of cake If I wanted.

They did awesome!... My daughter and I laughed and laughed and we kidded each other about how bad we wanted to drink a soda, but didn’t. I had a small piece of cake, but did not have a burger or hotdog, just a small serving of chili beans, a few chips, and salad. I told them how delicious and moist the cake was, and they said there would sent me a text of a yummy snack they were having later in the evening….that was my challenge…no eating or snacking after dinner….lol

Today, I went to church and was blessed as always, was pretty tired from all the activities, last week and had to take a little nap this afternoon. I’m hoping to work on my quilt again this evening, we are having pork for dinner with a nice salad, and I will have a small Yam, and hubby will have a huge bake potato. No soda, No snacking later.

    Happy to read that you did not have diet soda. Good job!

I just ended a 5 day challenge which included no potato wedges for me as part of my challenge. I did not give in, actually, I wasn't even tempted. I had gotten into a bad habit of eating them almost daily. It did not impact my weight at all, but still.

Glad you met your goal to not snack after dinner too! Yippie! Go girl!

    I'm proud of you. Especially since you are off DIET soda. Caffeine and Aspartame are deadly as a combination.
