I was woken up by a blinding headache this morning and I've been feeling a bit off all day (darn migraines...talk about incentive to be more careful about food choices!). Anywho, I haven't been terribly interested in food today so I've been abnormally good about only eating when I am for-real hungry.
The result? A reasonably substantial breakfast (2 eggs scrambled with spinach, three kalamata olives, and a bit of feta cheese, with two cups of coffee); a moderate lunch (two ladle-fulls of homemade pumpkin soup with half a shredded chicken breast mixed in); half a cup of full-fat greek yogurt with a few strawberries and big handful of blueberries; many glasses of water.
That's it. I put it in the tracker because it seemed like very little food, and it was. About 1000 total calories as far as I can tell, which is way less than I would normally eat but it does kind of make sense considering I can run off my own energy stores for a good while at the moment (hey, there's a positive spin on some extra fluff!) and considering I spent a good chunk of the day laying in bed with my head under my pillow.
I'm always amazed at how well the body knows what it needs, if you just stay away from junk and listen. Often easier said than done, I know, but it is pretty cool all the same.
