UP-DATE TO TOUGH WEEK BLOG

I blogged a while ago about the tough week I was having because it was the anniversary of my DH's passing. I mentioned that my youngest son was having a very difficult time dealing with this situation as well. He had also recently broken up with his girlfriend who he had started dating just before my DH passed away.
Today I received a call from my son. I was so happy to hear from him. He was visiting with friends out of town. He told me that things were much better for him. He had gotten over his depression, and work was going well. He told me that he had made up with his girlfriend, and they had decided to remain friends. He has also recently met a new girl, and he says she is very nice and he has been seeing her. He said he had explained what he had gone through to her and she had understood and was there for him.
My son thanked me very much for the time we had spent together. I knew that that had been a God thing. When he had called to talk to me a few weeks ago, I just felt a nudge to invite my son for supper the next day. When he came for supper he really talked to me and explained what he was going through. I talked to him and offered some advise and we just had a good time together. I told my son about that and I told him that several people had been praying for him. I truly believe that God uses situations such as this to bring people closer to Him. I know my son is beginning to realize that God really does answer prayer. I have been praying that he would come to know Jesus. I feel it will come in time.
My SIL has also been having some difficulties. Last week her DD passed away on her way home to visit her mother for her birthday. Her DD and her DH had been travelling by Greyhound from Edmonton to Winnpeg. They fell asleep and when her DH went to wake her, he found she had passed away in her sleep.
My SIL has been having problems getting the body released for burial after the autopsy was done. She and her SIL don't have a lot of money to pay for these things. They weren't going to release the body until they had $1,000 for shipping the body. My SIL and her SIL got on the phone to the MPs in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and raised a stink.
A Christian friend was visiting with my SIL and her family and offered to pray for them. They joined hands and prayed, and my SIL said that within a half hour of that prayer they received a call that the body would be shipped to Winnipeg and there would be no cost involved. She too now believes that God answers prayer. Her SIL's parents are going to pay for the funeral and burial so now everything is taken care of. God does work in mysterious ways. He can take bad situations and make good things out of them.
My son is coming to church with me tomorrow and we will be able to spend some time together again. I am so happy. God is so good. I am so truly blessed.
