Diary of a FLuffy Chick.... The Ghost Town of Spark....

Saturday, October 05, 2013

Oh wow, I have been peeking around Spark People and stopping in on some of my friend's pages and so many are not current, so they apparently have been MIA like I have been... I get this sense of loss for some reason. I guess I did not realize how much that these people meant to me, until I now can not talk to them... I have been inspired, encouraged, and strengthened by so many of these people, it makes me sad..... HOWEVER, there are a few still around and I have tried to touch base with them.... I know that there are ones out there, that have wondered where I disappeared to, and I don't really have a good excuse, other than life.... I am still not eating well, and with the cost of groceries these days, I have to admit our budget is just not allowing lots of fresh vegies and fruits, plus my guys in my family are such picky eaters, that I catch myself cooking the same things over and over, and many are based on convenience foods... My blood sugar is terrible and to be honest I feel like garbage most of the time, so something has GOT to change... I need to get back to regular blogging, and instead of keeping my feelings bottled up, I need to write them down, so I can move forward... I wish I had a bunch of wisdom, and uplifting things to share, but I don't right now, but I know it time my "Spark" will be back..... It does feel good to reach out once again.... Take care and keep SPARKLING!!!! Shannon

I am glad you are back. I have times that I am not able to post in the groups and then there are times that I am not eating right so I don't put that in my tracker. I feel sluggish lately but I know I need to do something and stick to it. I went back to my AA meetings on Friday and I am putting God back in its right place. Now I need to put God back as the priority with my body it is His temple anyway. Glad your back.

So glad you're back! I've missed you emoticon

I think we all do the peeking around from time to time without participating. I know I have.

Jump back in and get busy girl! Money is tight for everyone right now isn't it? Ugh! I have to watch what I buy too and if we let something go bad I just hate it!

Blogs are the best place to get those feelings out and Spark is the best for that!

I will be seeing you here!

birds of a feather, oh fluffy chick of my heart.... i am a current sparker but just went through my spark friends and weeded out the ones that are MIA or on permanent hiatus- with the new nutrition/activity tracking option some people have started up with a new account- a clean slate so to speak, while deciding if they want to stay old or go new. some of them decided but didn't let their friends know
as to picky eaters and healthy choices- there are ways to boost their "healthy" quota on the sly- home made soups, chilis, sloppy joes, pasta sauces i sub in V8 or other vegetable juice , I use ground turkey instead of ground beef in many recipes, I will use my food proccessor or hand chopper to get veggies so small they can be disguised almost anywhere, . I use a lot of frozen fruit and veggies/and shop the discount produce markets, I started using Smart pastas (with a lower GI) to help satisfy their carbs and my need for blood sugar control, have started mixing in brown rice or wild rice with the white, I splurge on funky vinagrettes for me and find that they are enjoying them too.....it isn't a fast process, but it can be done. hang in there

Go into a book store, there is a book written by this lady for making exciting lunches so her kids would eat, and get ideas.
Try shopping at Lebanese markets for fruits, and vegetables they are cheaper. If people in your family are picky eaters, then look at what you are feeding them, or how you are making it, tweek it! You need to put fruit, and vegetables into everyone's meals. if not then they are heading into all kinds of medical problems! Eating healthy is what makes you feel good. Choosing the right foods for energy, and health. Your organs depend on it for their health. If your blood sugar is out of control, I am sure you know what you are doing wrong! It's junk food, too many starches, non-foods, like pop, fast foods, processed foods without nutrients, ect.. Try taking Chromium Picolinate it helps regulate blood sugar. But like any pill, you need to stop making your bad habits control your blood sugar. Otherwise those bad habits are going to throw you into high blood pressure, and becoming a diabetic. These are just the foreunners of a heart attack or stroke. I hope I haven't upset you in some way! I just was trying to help you, and get you to understand what you are up against. We all aren't on this sight because we want to be beauty queens, even with the weight loss most of us won't make that. It's just the real damage is on the inside where we don't realize what we did till it's too late. Take care, and good luck. eva.
