this morning as I was getting ready to leave for my long awaited appointment the phone rang, family emergency- doctor is rebooking all his appointments that were scheduled for today. new date is January 10. Yes, next year. and so I wait. I'm still not good at waiting, but I'm learning to do it better. and as I blogged yesterday- this is not idle waiting, but watchful waiting, active waiting. the kind of waiting that sees me getting enough sleep, pursuing healthy food choices and seeking opportunities to move my body- like this morning after the cancellation call, I decided to go and get winter tires put on my van and while I was waiting I walked a "big block"- took an hour, fit bit recorded it as >3.2 miles, that is a 5k friends, a turkey trot, a woohoo for me. because I was just killing time waiting, I still plan on doing some ST later on, and maybe do another shorter walk after supper.
as for the winter tires, glad I didn't wait on that decision- their phone was ringing off the hook and they stopped taking new customers for the day at 12:30 as they had a full lot of vehicles waiting to be done before closing at 5:30. The shop I go to takes first come first served, I arrived at 1030 and was gone by 1:15. There has been snow in the foothills, mixed snow and rain around town and morning lows are kissing the freezing mark- I feel safer knowing that I have done what I can for my family
