Jungle fever day

Friday, October 04, 2013

It is very humid, 96% here, rainy, and very warm. I am so happy to have two days off.. Probably going to go back to the fruit market for green peppers to freeze for chili, goulash and Swiss steak this winter.

I hope to get a long hike in tomorrow if it is not thunder and lightning type rain ..

Sounds like you're living in a monsoon climate, just like the Caribbean.
They have clothing out there for humid weather! You could buy one of those scarfs that have those horticultural syillium seeds that swell with water, or from being frozen. Buy one of those little hats that have a built in fan in it's visor. Wear loose clothing made out of nylon, like the bicyclers. Then buy those socks, that pull water away from your feet. If you really have money to burn, they have thin jackets that have built in water bottles. But if it storms, stay away from going out. It's too dangerous. I like what you are doing & cooking. It sounds just like what I do, you like it, and are practical.

So you live in a terrarium too? Houston is almost always humid and it's been raining a ton here. Saw your offer for official "spa tester". At least you're more qualified than my friends down here. They don't know squat about chemicals and such. I will have to figure that stuff out. Never really mastered it with the pool. Hope the spa is easier.

I had to wait for lightning to go away here (thanks wunderground) before I could do the neighbor's chores. Humidity is very high, even with a cool wind it was a hot walk.

Freezing produce now is a grand thing to do for winter cooking. Fast and easy.
