On most days, I do aerobic weight training (aka FIRM-style workouts) and the other "work days" I do some form of aerobics (I love step training). I also move around a lot more than I used to. Even though my BMI is still considered in the obese category, I am an energy-filled, happier shadow of my former self, ready to continue towards my future. I love being strong. Yay me!
I have good muscle tone, improved cardio capacity, better mood...well the list goes on and on...
Still (and always) working toward a truly healthful relationship with food. This has proven to be much more challenging for me. With all due respect to my mom, I was taught extreme methods of calorie restriction (and then the binges that so often are the result) and perfectionism as a lifestyle. Unfortunately, mom still sees this "all or nothing" approach as the way to go, and so I don't share much of my healthy success with her, and this still confuses her. Oh well, I need to take care of me and she needs to take care of her. I wish her luck.
