We took our 13 year old niece, Allegra, out kayaking again today. She is really out of shape, but hopefully with all the activity I am encouraging her to do she will tone up some. We had fun kayaking. I was working on form. I bend my elbows too much, so today I tried locking my elbows out straight. It was hard to remember. After about an hour of leisurely paddling we practiced edging (where you lean your kayaking up on edge.. without tipping yourself into the water!), and then towing. We were towing two boats at a time. I am okay at edging and towing was fun. Allegra enjoyed herself.

After unloading the boats I took off to get more blood work done. I just had it done Monday, but the doctor wanted it repeated today. Sigh. I stopped at home to get my purse so I could go shopping, and it turns out my neighbor needed a ride to work, so I took a little detour on my way to the grocery store. I did my monthly stock up trip at the grocery store, plus got supplies for a care package for my eldest niece. I also stopped at the drug store and got my prescriptions refilled. Brought everything home and put everything away in the kitchen and other places, then had to take off for a meeting. I am on the advisory board for a local non profit, and tonight was our monthly meeting. They feed us, thank goodness. I scarfed down some raspberries and a nectarine for lunch, but I usually eat more than that after kayaking, so I was running on empty by the time I got to my meeting. Overall, I did okay with food today. I don't like letting myself get quite that hungry, but I just kept forgetting to eat today. I bought some quick and easy food today, so maybe I will find it easier to keep from getting ravenous.

    I never "forget" to eat but sometimes I get too busy to eat... and that can spell trouble if I don't have a plan. Bringing some quick easy healthy snacks is always a good strategy.
