Please tell me tomorrow's Saturday

Thursday, October 03, 2013

Another brutal day. At least none of the systems crashed, but it was go, go, go all day. My head, neck and shoulders all hurt. I'd love to have someone rub my temples and shoulders, but it's not gonna happen.

Sadly, I've realized that I can't keep baking all of my bread. The old portion control monster rears its ugly head again. What exactly constitutes a "slice" of homemade bread? It comes out more like a "hunk." Besides, it's so yummy when it's hot and right out of the oven, it's very hard to keep from scarfing all of it down. Well, at least I'll stick to the healthiest kinds. However, if my stand mixer thinks its life of luxury is coming back, it's sadly mistaken. I'm looking for other things I can make with it. I'm also hoping to start getting some of the attachments, particularly the meat grinder and the pasta maker.

I'm so tired -- would I be evil if I had pancakes or sausages and eggs for dinner tonight? Breakfast for dinner sounds so good right now.

I'm so sorry to hear that your day was difficult. As for the bread, I completely understand how hard it is to find self-control when eating warm and/or homemade bread.

Eating what suits you when it suits you in the appropriate amount is always okay. Just because somebody else decided to call it breakfast doesn't mean a thing. Heck - sometimes i eat oatmeal with fruit for dinner, or a bowl of cheerios (multi-grain, of course). An omelet for dinner can be wonderful - so GO FOR IT! emoticon

I love breakfast for dinner! About that stand mixer---Aren't they the greatest? However, I sadly have concluded that just about anything I make with it is loaded with calories and guilt. Portion control? Too much to ask of myself sometimes. I'm envious of your meat grinder. I'd love to have that attachment for mine!
I hope you have a better day today!

I love breakfast for dinner. And bread servings when it comes to homemade breads... I weigh the entire baked dough, then measure how much I eat. That percentage is entered into the tracker for what I portion of the recipe I ate. I don't type the complete recipe in, I just use the groupings section.

Hey, it's your life and choices and you don't have to please anyone else. So have breakfast foods for supper if you want.

I usually have what others might think is lunch type foods for breakfast, mainly sandwiches... Sometimes I have supper leftovers from the night before. As long as you are getting your freggies in, and your proteins, carbs and fats are fairly well balanced, who cares??
