Random question for y’all

Thursday, October 03, 2013

When you see someone with long hair, do you automatically assume they are going to cut it and donate it? Do you assume they are keeping it long for religious reasons? Why can’t someone just have long hair?
I pose the question because I have long hair. As it happens, I keep it long for religious reasons. Even when I am not active in church I will not cut my hair. Perhaps I might have at one point, but not now. I have several “long hairs” that I am friends with on FB, etc. and they do not keep their hair long for any other reason than they like it long. I realize that there are many who are not blessed with hair like mine and I am thankful for mine, don’t get me wrong, but when did it become common place or expected for everyone with long hair to donate it? Did I miss the memo? I will post a picture of my hair taken June 1st of this year or thereabouts. It has gotten a little longer since then.

Some people will ask people when they are going to get married. Some will ask people when they plan to have kids or why they don't have kids. Some people just don't realize what is not their business.

Enjoy your hair, whatever length you wear it, for whatever your reasons are.

I don't even concern myself with why. I have a friend, who also does FB who has beautiful red hair and grows it to donate it. She does this yearly and I think that is wonderful. It's also ok not to. Not an issue either way. Do what serves you the most.
