Day 43 of Insanity

Thursday, October 03, 2013

Today is Day 43 of Insanity, and I have determined that my body is crazy. I had trouble falling asleep last night even though I was tired, I remember hearing the clock toll 11 o’clock but I don’t think I made it to 12 o’clock. This morning I woke up before my alarm because I had to use the bathroom and just kept falling back asleep, then waking up, then falling back asleep, until my alarm went off at 5:45 for my workout. So I didn’t really get a good solid amount of sleep.

The crazy part? From the first time I woke up I felt great. I felt it immediately. I opened my eyes, and my energy was there, my attitude was up again, and not only was I ready to workout, my body WANTED to workout. I have no idea why, or what happened, or what changed, no idea! (other than a rest day and eating a lot yesterday). And when I stepped on the scale this morning I had a loss from last week – not very much, but I don’t really care at this point. My goal has changed from “lose as much weight as possible during Insanity” to “get through Insanity without crashing or taking the easy way out.” I DID decide to measure a couple things this morning though – I measured my tummy and I didn’t see a move at all, which was sad, but then I measured my arm… and I lost a ½ inch there!!! My flappy arms are an issue for me, and month 2 of Insanity does a lot of ground work doing different types of pushups, so I was really hoping to get some arm progress this month and 1 week into month 2 I have some definite arm progress!

Last night I decided to log what food I knew I would be eating during work for today to see where I was. I didn’t want to wait until Saturday and risk falling into a rut again over the next couple of days. I noticed that because my spark food tracker wasn’t tied to my workout tracker it was recommending a really low amount of food for me. So I linked the two, logged my Insanity Cardio workout for today, and put in what food I was packing for work today and I wasn’t halfway to where I was supposed to be for calories. Carbs and Fats I was kinda close to hitting the minimum, and protein I was 5 over the minimum (thank you protein shake, chobani, and chicken in my frozen meal). But even then, those are just minimum’s. So I’ll see what my tracker looks like tonight after I also log in my dinner and snacks during the day, which are mostly fruit.

Tomorrow is Max Interval and then Max Plyo – the two killer workouts! Gulp! But if need be, I think I will add in another rest day during the week and just extend the program by a few days. But this week is set up differently. After Plyo comes recovery (which I laugh at, because even though there is no cardio it is still a sweat inducing workout that burnnnns), then cardio, and then Core Cardio and Balance, which was the workout you do during recovery week! So Maybe this week won’t be so bad – last week was 2 circuit trainings, 2 plyo’s, and the cardio workout and recovery workout. Going forward there is more variety and not so many of the killer workouts per week.
I hope you’re all having a sparktastic day today!!!

It's possible you were tired because you slept in the other day. That throws off your body clock. Also, if you haven't been eating enough calories to sustain the higher activity level, that could add to you feeling tired. Keep working on balancing everything out and hopefully you'll have enough energy to push through every workout.

emoticon on you losses and your continued consistency. Ikr about the Max Recovery not being much of a recovery because it's still an intense workout. I loved the weeks with Core Cardio and Balance too, at least I knew that there was at least 1 'easy' video that week. I hope that you figure what will be best, extending the program to include more rest or not. Either way emoticon emoticon .

Isn't it weird when you look at your food and see you have to eat MORE?!! Who'd a thought!

Firm arms!! The best non scale victory!

And waking up with lots of energy! I need that. I am not a morning person. Maybe one day it will happen to me too!

Wow, awesomeness! emoticon It is perfectly fine to extend the program a few days so you can take more rest days. This way, you will be refreshed and be able to give 100% to your next workout.

It's pretty neat to see the amount of food you can eat when you exercise. I log my food in for the day so I know I am hitting my targets.

Way to go on planning and way to go on your workouts! emoticon
