Insanity Week 1 Done...into Week 2

Wow! Work got really crazy last week and the beginning of this week. As a result I just didn't have time to blog.

But I am very happy to report that I got in all 6 Insanity workouts last week! Woo hoo!


This week has been great so far! I am really sweating with each Insanity workout. I am trying to push myself a little harder with each workout. I really struggle with the Drill 1, push-up jacks, and ski abs. They kill me. But I am working to go further with each workout. I find I have to stop half way through each of those particular exercises. So my goal is to finish a workout without stopping on those ones.

I have been keeping with my goal of 3 strength training sessions a week. This morning was supposed to be Insanity Cardio Recovery. However, my little one has been waking up around 5 am so I am only having time to do either weights or cardio. I chose to do Insanity yesterday so I decided to do Push Circuit 2 this morning.

I pushed it on Push Circuit 2 this morning and my shoulders got worked!!! Holy cow!

I was actually really happy to discover that I could move up in some of my weights this morning. In the push circuits the goal is to fatigue by 6 - 8 reps.
I was really happy that I moved my rear deltoids raised up to 10 lbs and my lateral raises to 15lbs. I was also able to do 6 reps of the arnold press holding a 20lb weight in each hand! Oh yeah! Felt so strong!

I am super excited to start my Zumba class tonight! I tried Zumba once with my sister-in-law and loved it. So I decided to join a 12 week program. My husband thought it would be nice for me to get out once a week to do my workout instead of always going down to the basement! hahaha And gives me a little night out which he gets son quality time with our some.

I am so excited for Zumba tonight...I will keep you posted on how it goes!


October Goals

Haven't seen a weight loss yet. And I believe too much trail mix could be the culprit as I am under estimating how many calories I am consuming with it.

So goals for October
- trail mix only have maximum 2 times per week
- drink 10 glasses of water a day
- increase veggie intake
- decrease dairy intake (this is because I have a nastly cough still lingering that seems to flare up when I eat dairy.)
- complete 95% of Insanity workouts
- workout 6 days a week
- strength train 3 days a week
