October Isn't Great.

Well, October could be going better for me. I fell back into OLD habits yesterday, and once I ate another of those stupid muffins that are large, not that good, and 500 calories, I just blew off the day somewhat. I ate over 2,300 calories both the 1st and 2nd days in October. I really wanted to make this month perfect. But progress, not perfection, right?

Today I weighed in with trepidation. I am back down the half pound I gained, so I am back to 146.5! Yay! I am happy that my days off plan didn't set me back. I went to the doctor yesterday for my almost 6-week checkup. I am cleared to start back at work whenever and also start exercising.

Today I am going out to lunch with a friend. I am worried about what to eat. I am not sure, but I think they might have a grilled chicken salad or something I could get. It is a pizza and burger place.

Anyway, have a great rest of the week. I am going to finish the week strong!

    You're right. Progress not perfection. At least you recognize that you ate something that wasn't even worth the calories and next time you will probably reconsider eating that muffin. Two days out of the month are not going to ruin it. You still have a chance to make October a great weight loss month!

    The analogy I use is with eggs. Just because you drop one on the floor doesn't mean you throw the rest down too. I have a 3X5 card on my cabinet to remind me of that. Doesn't always work, but it helps.
This month I'm working on accepting NOT being perfect. Telling myself it's OK if I mess up, to just pick myself up and get going again. My goal is to be my own best friend. When I hear that voice inside saying I failed, to actually sit down and write out a letter to MY FRIEND. SO, what would you say to a friend that had two days like you did? Give up?? Or it's OK, Don't focus on the past, it doesn't matter, what matters is what you are going to do from this point forward. :)

    Stay strong and make good choices at lunchtime.

Also - remember that when you eat CRAP you feel like CRAP.

C = Carbonated Drinks
R = Refined Sugars
A = Artificial Sweeteners
P = Processed foods

You want to feel good so eat more FOOD.

F = Fruits and veggies
O = Organic Lean Protein (when you can)
O = Omega 3 fatty acids
D = Drink more water! :D
