Yard work

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

Today I took the car for the state inspection and then went home changed into grubbies and went outside to work. Continued to mix soil, peat moss, and vermiculite for the last of the raised beds. We were able to get the last of the mulch off the lawn and into the garden area. I took apart our oldest compost bin and dug out a large clump of rhubarb that had rooted there. Dug three holes in the rhubarb row. Divided the clump and planted it in the 3 holes. Sifted the aged horse manure and added it to the rhubarb patch. Took some more and put it around some of the roses, rose of Sharon, and asparagus. Could smell something wonderful and realized it was the ratatouille I had started in the slow cooker.
We had ratatouille over rice for for supper.
Tomorrow is medical appointments.
