My first Yoga Class

I have wanted to take a real yoga class for a long time. I have kind of played around with moves that I have found in magazine articles, but I know it is not the same thing. Age, Crossfit, and sitting a lot for work have played havoc with making my muscles and tendons tight so I really wanted to do this in an effort to help my flexibility and mobility.

My husband works for a small private training gym, and they were hosting a free yoga class as a test to see if they had enough clients interested enough to take it on a regular basis. My husband, bless his heart!, signed me up, so I went on Tuesday night to check it out.

The woman leading the class was a therapeutic yoga instructor. She was perfect for it! Very calming and a great instructor. There were ten of us. The class was 45 minutes and went through some basic, simple movements. By the end, I felt very relaxed, but boy could I tell just how tight some of my muscles are! There were quite a number of movements I had to modify as my body would just not quite move into the right position.

Hopefully, they will decide to continue the classes, and I did let them know that I would definitely participate if it were to become a regular thing. Keeping my fingers crossed......
