Ciao, September!

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

September was a very social month for me: there were some brunches, lunches and dinners with old friends, plus discussions over coffee with new friends; navigating the school run and playdates for my oldest child; welcoming a new year for myself; and celebrating Autumnís arrival.

In the midst of the social festivities, I have been falling into a good rhythm at home with the kids. We are all doing well. Iím proud of myself for honoring appointments for myself in regards to self care, as well.

Since Iím breastfeeding the baby, my focus has been on living healthy Ė not losing weight. I drink about a gallon of water each day; eat 6 small meals; and have been incorporating more activity into my days. My big news: I broke up, successfully, with chocolate chip cookies!

With the close of September, I am saying goodbye to 4 pounds and many inches from my mid-section.

Iím looking forward to making October an even healthier month.

My question to my Sparkfriends:
What are you planning to do differently in October to make your health and fitness dreams a reality?

I plan to continue honoring my father, making me a priority amongst the repairs of the farm, and spend quality time with the boys and the hubby when I can.

emoticon So many exciting changes for you!

In October I plan to find a way to fix my sleep. I have determined that 90 percent of my problems (dragging out of bed in the morning, skipping morning exercise, exacerbating a multitude of fibro symptoms, increased and sometimes uncontrollable hunger...) can be traced back to poor-quality and inadequate amounts of sleep.

The sleep tracker in my new FitBit is my newest attempt! The other is finding a way to maintain consistent bedtimes even when my evenings are hijacked beyond my control because of unpredictable work schedules, etc.

Planning to do differently? Hmmm...remember that I can make better choices. I've done it before with great success, so I know I can do it again. I'm also trying to get back to doing yoga more regularly and for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Nursing is supposed to be great for reducing the belly - so proud of you for doing it!
