Day of 2 of Furlough, also up 2 pounds for the month of Sept!

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

Well I work for the Federal Government.. Congress can't get their act together & so I'm furloughed for day 2.

I weighed in on Monday, 30 Sept. 2013.. I am up2 pounds from last week.. I'm up 0.8 pounds for the whole month of September & no loss for the month..

I have a lot on my mind... A little down about my weight gain but I knew that I had a bad week last week, so I can't be surprised by the scale..

I can relate to both subjects. My Fiancée is furloughed right now too. And my scale seems to go in the wrong direction.
Heres to hoping we both get good news soon.

They are going to push us into a worse recession than they had us in before.

Don't let the fluctuation scare you--you certainly have alot on your mind and it is soooo not your fault (the navy yard workers here just went back--and the farmers market was offering free food for furloughed workers)--hard to stay positive when there seems to be such a ridiculous impasse, but maybe find some furloughed fitness partners to walk with daily, to maintain that little corner of sanity within yourself while those in power act like crazy chicken playing teenagers with really big cars. emoticon

You'll get through this... and maybe this is an opportunity to do something for yourself that you had not planned on!

I don't know or care what anyone's politics are, there are a whole lot of idiots in Washington, and I'd like to start alphabetically and give them each a kick in the butt. Hey, that would probably qualify as exercise minutes... maybe we should all line up together and do it... It is shameful, for sure. My cousins also work for the govt. One is a nuclear chemist and the other an ecology biologist. They are also not too happy...

Weight... sigh... it so sucks... I try and nothing happens. I know that because you are petite that the weight shows more on you... and also you burn less, and it makes it harder. Just keep trying. And try to watch the diabetes stuff even more importantly.

Hugs to you, my friend

Federal employees have been furloughed for government shut downs 17 times in recent history. Out of those 17 times would you like to guess how many times the furloughed employees were not given back pay? The longest shut down was 21 days; the stupidest was a 2 week shutdown over whether to give or not to give Congress a pay raise!!!
My husband is now in his 40th year of Federal Government service. Of those 17 shut downs, every single employee was given full back pay for days missed due to shutdowns. Enjoy your Congressionally mandated vacation! Take the time to concentrate on you and you health needs. Don't feed the emptiness please. Hugs, Sandy

I have had some great workouts when I've been angry and this situation is just disgusting.

Fire up the spark people kickboxing workout and imagine you are kicking serious congress butt!!

Show 'em what you're made of!

Yes, definitely channel that anger into activity. Make it a positive thing for you (even though it is beyond despicable that this is happening! Makes MY blood boil too! And these politicians are getting PAID!)

HUGS

I am off one of my pills and I will continue to get off the last one. The only way is up. trainer can not help with emotional eating but you can. I am sure you will find a way.
