Day 740

Tuesday, October 01, 2013

Drove mom to the wound care clinic and did some shopping with her, so that ate up my entire afternoon, but I still got in three walks and some yoga. We left Cooper out on the lead at my parents' house when we left and my dad said that he was fine with it when he got home. (Dad got home over an hour before me and mom.) I don't know if I will be driving her to the clinic again next week.

They finally replaced the last window in my apartment. It is nice. The old window was so heavy that I couldn't open it, but the new one just slides right up. Cool! They did end up waking me up this morning, but I left soon after they got here to walk with the giggle of girls that go with me on Tuesday mornings. It wasn't the full crowd as three of them were home with lice. I was just as happy that they stayed home. I just have to think about head lice for my head to start itching.

Did well with food today, and some of our shopping today was food shopping, so I have plenty of food for the rest of the week... healthy food at that. (I did buy a box of Hohos though, which have gone into the freezer to be doled out about once a week. They are one of my guilty pleasures.)

It sounds like you had a good day. Yay for the new window! And putting the snacks in the freezer is such a good idea. I usually just put things on the top shelf in my cabinet. If I want to get it from up there, I have to get a chair or a ladder, which usually makes me think twice about whether I really want it.

I envy you the ability to dole out snacks once a week. I can do OK for a few days, but eventually I cave and finish whatever it is.

I tend to manage by keeping all of my food at work so that when I'm at home and most vulnerable it isn't available.

Unfortunately I had to bring all my food home with me yesterday when the furlough started, so the big challenge for me until they let us go back will be keeping out of the kitchen except when I actually need food.

Wish me luck.

Coming out there this weekend will probably a big relief, because then I'll be away from that stuff.

That is great about your windows! I too live in apartment that had old heavy windows, but unfortunately, when they replaced them, they gave is this tiny, hard to reach window to open at the top of it that only opens about six inches -ludicrous design -anyone stuck in a wheelchair will be unable to reach it. The old ones were sliding windows the size of the whole window, letting lots of fresh air in, so in that way I was very unhappy with my change as I can't clear my neighbour's smoke out with that little window.
Good for you being able to have your treat and dole in out in a controlled manner! Hard for me to do -I don't know how chips would freeze LOL!
Keep up the great work!

My husband loves ho-hos. Haven't; bought them in ages. The new window sounds wonderful. How nice to have that. We did new windows on the house a few years ago and the difference was incredible. Even added a bay window in the living room. That was really good.
