Focus T25 Sixth Week Review

Tuesday, October 01, 2013

Hi everyone,

Hopefully none of you thought I gave up. I did the sixth week once, went on vacation, I decided to redo the it again to bring myself back up to speed.

This week I started the second phase of the program called the Beta Phase. In this phase there is a ton of focus on the core. The exercises are faster and more dynamic. Just like Alpha there are 5 different workouts.

Upper Focus
Core Cardio
Speed 2.0
Dynamic Core
Rip'T Circuit

Since it was my first time through all the workouts, I didn't get a true feel for them. They all felt kind of awkward. For example two of the workouts use weights, and I wasn't sure how heavy I should go, or maybe the resistance band would be more challenging. I would get through some exercises and realize I could have pushed myself a lot harder through them. Definitely looking forward to the second time through them all. I will say thought I do feel prepared for the next five weeks. The Alpha phase really did condition and strengthen my body. While doing these new exercises I'm able to keep myself stable and controlled and feel the burn where I'm suppose to rather then gasping for air and trying to keep up.

One of the best things I have been able to take away from this program is simply that. I've been able to take the exercises out of my basement and on the road with me while I was on vacation. I found these beauties and went T25 all over them.

I created a 25 minute Circuit workout. I would use the stairs as the cardio interval. I would run them twice then at the bottom I would either do a core and chest or lower body exercise I learned straight from T25. It was pretty cool. I had never designed my own workout before. I know some of you are asking, "you worked out on vacation?" Yes, working out is a part of my day. It keeps me sane. It helps me fight stress. It helps me feel good and proud of myself. It keeps me from feeling guilty for the times I do slack on my nutrition. If one little act can evoke all that positively. Why wouldn't I do it?

That is awesome that you got in workouts that you made up on your own! That is a real change in lifestyle that you have embraced! Well done!

I know I've said this before, but your commitment to your workout routine is awesome! I'm like you -- I usually try to work out even when I'm on vacation because it helps me feel good (both physically and mentally) and makes me feel better if I do go a little over on calories.

Those stairs look pretty badass! Love that you made up your own routine.

Awesome! Good going working out while on vacation. Don't feel bad about feeling awkward the first time working out on the new phase. You will definitely get it the next time through. I am that way too and lately I have to tell myself that my body has to learn it. So neat that you put together your own circuit workout while on vacation and used exercises from your program. I piece together different things for my strength training mostly from youtube. Trying to build up and get to more advanced exercises. My arms aren't improving, but hoping that is just something that takes more time and will see results there soon. Keep it up! You're doing great!
