I had a moment.....

Tuesday, October 01, 2013

Hello everyone,

today I tried to be focused and made sure I measured my portions, undertook some exercise, but working from home bought many temptations, I had some potato chips (crisps) which were calling me, yes they were. I looked at them several times and tried to ignore them. I drank another litre of water, still not feeling content, I decided that I was going to eat them, but of course I first had to track them, and that is when the realisation of seeing how many calories this little packet contained that my mouth fell open. Then I decided to opt for an apple with some peanut butter as I had read suggestions for snacks on one of the Sparkpeople articles. I am so surprised how delicious and filling it is. Job done I feel fine and not guilty, which I would have been if I had eaten the crisps!

apples and peanut butter-one of my favorites and the apples are so good right now! I bought some new kinds of nut butters...cashew is very good and so is the hazelnut. I saw an article here on SP about making your own so many give that a try now that I know I like them...I'm thinking almond butter would be very good. I also like it on a stalk of celery. Potato chips are one of my big "craves". I just can't have them in the house.

Good for you! The tracker keeps me honest.

Well done for resisting the crisps and learning from the tracker. Bit of a crisp lover myself and have found some alternatives that are not so bad. Walkers Sunbites and I think the other is Velvets. I get both from Tesco. I think the Velvets are half the calories of normal crisps if you need to have that crisp fix!

Good for you! Apple and PB is one of my favorites! Satisfying and not too many calories! I like to keep baby carrots around in case I need something crunchy. Keep it up!

Great choice on tracking first, and opting for the apple instead. Sometimes it is hard to fight those temptations. But you did it, way to go.

Step one - buy healthy snacks. Fruits are a good choice. emoticon
