Happy October! September was immensely challenging emotionally (sick kitty, fired Dissertation chair and awaiting the University's reassignment, family member passed away and resulting family dynamics/drama) but incredibly successful on the health an wellness front (wonderful healthy eating, knee improvement, down 18lbs). Perhaps I'm actually learning new and improved coping skills. Hooray!
October Goals are:
Finish weeks 5&6 of Shred Diet
Adapt a similar eating plan from 10/14-11/2 (2nd round of the Shred starts 11/3)
Exercise 4X/week (Shred weeks are 5X/week)
Lose 8 lbs
Consider joining Zumba class to challenge kneehab
Gratitude for 3 things a day
Write C1 (C1 should be done by 10/3) and most of C2 of Dissertation
Prep work for CSAT conference (10/30-11/3)
Eat appropriately at conference (always a challenge)
Network with phone numbers w/ atleast 3 people at Conference
Shred Week 4 Update
Wk1 loss: 7lbs
Wk2 loss: 6lbs
Wk3 loss: 3lbs
Wk 4 loss:2 lbs (I celebrate days that are smoothie/protein shake free)
I am super pleased witht the Shred so far. Despite lower #s in weeks 3 & 4, these are the weeks where you can really see transformations in my body. Looking smaller, feeling more energy overall, facial changes, fitting into clothes that I couldn't before, etc.
Also, I did not exercise according to the Shred plan because of depression and family obligations with the death in the family in week 4. There are times when I think that the only thing going right these days is the Shred eating plan. I'm committed to it and I'm certain if I was not in the middle of it that I would be shoveling in cake & ice cream to avoid feelings. I'm so grateful for my success in this realm right now.
