Pain Is My Enemy!

Monday, September 30, 2013

Psalm 25:1-2 Unto THEE, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my GOD, I trust in THEE: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. emoticon

I got again with a painful stiff back and hip. emoticon This time I didn't wrestle with it until I could sit up. I had hubbie to come and help me sit up. emoticon Yikes! I put off exercise until 7 p.m. this evening. I told my husband I needed to exercise. I needed to at least walk some. He didn't want to agree with me. He was worried about my pain. I told him I was putting on some cooler clothes, sunscreen, and walking shoes. emoticon As I was getting ready I call to him in the next room and ask if he had his shoes on yet. LOL He did! The dog was rearing to go jumping around like he lost his mind. emoticon Off we went! emoticon emoticon After 20 minutes of brisk walking my back was singing the crying game song. emoticon I didn't listen! I put attention to my posture, prayed, and kept lifting one foot after another. We walked almost 1.5 miles. I was to slow in my timing though. It took me 42 minutes to walk 1.5 miles. I got to pick up my pace. I am planning on more core exercises, to help strengthen my back.

Oh, Hubby is taking me to the beach soon. Yea! emoticon Chaos our dog gets to come with us. He travels so well and is should a good dog. Our baby! Hubbie said we all needed a get-a-way. I haven't been on a vacation in a very long time. Since it is off season the rates are down and makes it an affordable vacation. I plan on cooking most of our meals. That will save on money and I can keep to our healthy way of eating. There is a restaurant close by that allows pets. I figure we will eat out there at least once. We want to sightsee a few of their parks that allow dogs, too. Plus we will have a whole beach to walk ourselves silly. I am hoping everything goes well, so we can get a well deserved rest and have some enjoyment.

Tomorrow, I am going to just do it again. I plan on walking 2.5 miles. I am eating some protein and carbs before leaving. Plus I will drink a bottle of water before leaving. We always take water with us. Chaos our dog even has his own water bottle. It is neat. It has a drinking tray snapped onto it.

I will let you know how it go, tomorrow. I know I will probably have another stiff back and pain in the morning. I am making myself do stretches to help that. Even if it hurts. emoticon I want to ride my stationary bike to wake up my legs. emoticon Then more stretches before walking. emoticon

Lord I pray that you help me to do all that I can to strengthen my back and hip. Help me to be wise in my exercises and to be faithful in doing them. Strengthen my body and help me to prepare myself for the 5k's coming up. Also, strengthen my husband who is also working toward that goal. In JESUS name I pray.

You are a great inspiration. Just be careful that you don't get a setback. I am impressed with your determination though. emoticon emoticon

I love your positive attitude, BUT you should listen to your body too. What does your Dr. say about walking/biking through the pain? trust me on this, don't push yourself too far, or you will be down even longer. Also, I've found if I forget to stretch after my walk, I am MUCH more sore the following day.

How exciting about going to the beach. We have a pop up camper and the winter is when we get in most of our camping, at the beach. :) Have a great time!!!

Persistence is a virtue, just listen to your body and be careful! My parents have always love the beach off season! It's like they have private tear front property and the beach to themselves , enjoy!
