New Week....

Monday, September 30, 2013

This am got a call from neighbor wanting to print off a pic for her dd's birthday cake and I told her about my feeling threatened on Sat. at the park. She reiterated what all of you my brave and insightful SP friends said, to be in touch with your instincts, but not to let it top me. So, I went back to the park today, strong!!! But, it was so hot, I only got the 7.5 k done, seriously considering it right now, I could go and walk till dark (NOT) and it would give me just enough minutes to get my SP 2000 Fitness minutes award.,... so close, but would really be pushing it, so guess I have to be more consistent next month.

Took cell phone and a spray bottle of cologne (Neighbor's suggestion) and I gave her a couple of Wendo (Women's Way of Self Defence) moves to keep in mind as well. Anyway got a call from the eye dr. I have been referred to and will meet her on Fri, and next Fri. I meet my GP, everything is falling into place that way. Even met my great nephew and great great nephew at the bank today and was invited to their house..... that's a first... their baby boy is so cute, he's got an incredible smile, and I should make a visit just to enjoy the little fella..... I was very surprised to get an invite.... I don't know if they are on a more normal schedule or if they still sleep all weird hours.... I guess the best bet would be to get their cell number from my sis and call first.... I know I like surprises too, but a quick call is better, a warning so you can get dressed and quickly straighten up....

So my English student needed my help going to the bank with her today and she showed me another way to get down town, so we both learned something today. Weds. we go to town, a longer day, and Thursday she is going to check out the games day at my church...

Leftover corned beef (substituted with ham) hash for supper....

New book I started, "Through the Glass" - a true story from a woman's perspective telling the story of her dh who kidnapped and raped 2 women in Ontario, Canada.... didn't sleep very well after reading that last nite.

Wasp spray works well, too. I would carry mace but it's expensive and I'd have to get a FID--$20 per year. I just bought a little belly pack that carries my cell phone when I don't have pockets.

Stay safe and keep up the good work!

Hope you have a nice visit when you do get the opportunity to go.
Yeh, I would definitely call first. I always have hated it whenever people dropped by without calling first. In-laws (husband's side of family) use to do it all the time (brother in-law and his wife) and they would always come in the mornings - like 8:00 AM!! Of course, they would be dressed all neat and pulled together - with her in her make-up and not a hair out of place on her head ... and me, well, my hair would be whatever it was when I first got out of bed that day, and no make-up (like ever) and I'd be in what I'm always wearing anytime I'm home -PJs,!!!

Anyway, it's just unnerving to be caught unawares and I bet you'd score big brownie points just by making a call first.

As for your choice of bedtime reading material .... OMG, scared me just reading what little info you've written here about it. Girl, you are one tough gal! emoticon emoticon
