I am trying SparkCoach, and the Daily Community Task on the phone app tells me to name at least one thing I love about my body, but if I can to aim for 3-5 things. I like the SparkCoach app, because I haven't found a way to blog from my SparkPeople app. Though, blogging from the phone isn't practical, so I did run to the computer. The computer version of SparkCoach wants me to tell you about the ways I tend to waste time, and come up with a few healthier ways you can use that time to work toward your goals. I decided to start with the phone app.
Part One - The things I love about my body:
My brain - My brain resides in the penthouse of my body. It figures things out for me, and likes to do smart stuff like reading. Though, sometimes we are at odd with the exercising.
My heart - It seems to have a pretty good connection with my brain. If my brain senses danger or exercise, my heart beats a little bit faster. It also is the center for the things I love - my boyfriend, my dogs, my various extra-curricular activities.
My boobs - I just like them. They work for me.
My hair - Took me a long time to grow it, and when it started to fall out due to some health issues earlier this year, I was a bit upset. It seems to have recovered though. Thank goodness I have a great PCP.
My eyes - They are expressive, though sometimes they give away too much. I also like using various eye shadows on the lids, and making them look pretty.
Those are my five things off the top of my head that I love about myself. It took me a long time to love myself, but there is nothing I really look at and tell myself I hate. Sure, I would like to lose a few pounds and my stomach could be flatter. But overall, life is to short for me to hate myself, especially when there is so many other things to hate, like the bitter taste of cucumber peels.
Part 2 - The things I do to waste time.
Facebook - I work alone, so sometimes I get lonely and that is my connection to the outside world. I have been trying to use the SparkPeople community more. And Twitter, which I am not on nearly as much. Facebook blabs too much.
Candy Crush Saga or some other game - I find games enjoyable. Though, I haven't been on Words with Friends nearly as much as I use to.
Watching TV - I like TV. And cuddling with my boyfriend while watching TV. (I know, it's kind of sappy.)
Hmmm...off the top of my head, those are probably my biggest time wasters. However, I remember this quote that said, "If you are enjoying yourself, it isn't time wasted." Though, to the point of today's SparkCoach video, I could be doing something productive while watching TV. Especially if my boyfriend isn't around to cuddle with.
