Setting October Goals

My goal for the month of October is to reach 9 miles running. My son will be visiting from FL and hopefully I can get him out with me to run around the lake. He was born here in The Carolina's and our 1st house use to back up to this lake. That is where and when I started running over 23 years ago. But when we moved to FL when he was 2 years old, was the first time I ever did a race, The Gasparilla 15 K Long Distance in Tampa, FL and met all my Sunshine Running Buds. Sure wish they were here. I have been here now for 3 years and have not really connected with anyone with the same interest in running. I am so restricted being a 24/ 7 caregiver, I just go when I have the opportunity.
I also have a goal with my Fitness Cardio and Weight training. My Fitness Minutes this month I would like to achieve 2500 minutes,. That is including my running minutes. I would like to loose 10 more pounds by Thanksgiving. That would be a year since I restarted my journey. So far I have lost close to 30 pounds of the 50 I had gained after surgery.

    Congratulations on your 30 pound loss so far.

Your October plan sounds marvelous. Knowing how the caregiver life can be, I know you can't wait to see your son. I love when my parents come to visit me and we get to do some things together.

    What a coincidence, Sharon! I'm training for the Pretty in Pink 15K on Oct 13! My running partner, the one I've paced for 2 races now, asked me to pace her. I using long slow distances with fartleks to get my endurance, pace, and speed up. It's working pretty good! We can do this!

    I just had an idea. How about the 20 in 90 team support you on that goal and those of us who can will try and join you on the 10 lbs. by Thanksgiving. since I fell way short on the 20 in 90 I would love to give it another shot and try 10 lbs. by Thanksgiving. What do you say?
