....make lemonade .....or make hay while the sun shines.
Most of the summer we have been knocking down massive hedges and replacing them with walls. This means there has been a cement mixer looming large in my life for about 7 weeks. The rental company wanted it back today. So Hubby pulled out all the stops and finished all the cement work yesterday. There are just a couple of railings to fit and we are done.
I go to a keep fit class at 10am on Mondays. I played with the idea of going anyway and hoping the rental company turned up in the afternoon. But I really REALLY wanted to see the back of this cement mixer. So I stayed at home and missed my class.
As it happened, I could have gone to my class because my vibes must have travelled telepathically and the truck didn't turn up until 2pm.
Was the morning wasted? NO. I shifted bricks, soil, cement bags, shovels etc just to clear up a front garden that was closely resembling the Battle of the Somme. I raked and seeded a patch of grass that had been ruined and I got a few buckets of water and scrubbed the driveway. It now looks like a fairly decent garden again. It won't be 100% until I have hired a skip and filled it with a huge load of rubble and hedge roots that were too big for the garden waste collection. But that is all piled up neatly in one small part of the garden and doesn't look too bad.
I'm happy with what I achieved today. My muscles had a great work out and I no longer have to wear blinkers as I walk through a wreck of a front garden.
That's worth another
