One of my goals for my new healthy lifestyle was to add more muscle to my frame. Muscle burns more calories & helps protect your bones, among other things. It is also more sleek & compact than fat. I'm beginning the 10th week of a 12-week intensive strength training program. While doing this program, I have built more muscle, lost a few pounds, lost lots of inches & I feel so much stronger. My chiropractor & massage therapist say that I have more muscle around my spine which better supports my posture.
Don't be afraid of strength training. Ladies, you probably don't have enough testosterone to get bulky. I don't look bulky at all -- just much more toned.
Consider adding strength training to your exercise. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
