Sunday soaker

Sunday, September 29, 2013

Well, the rogue weatherman was right . . . the winds blew in last night and we've been getting a drenching ever since. We've gone from drought to monsoon in 2 weeks. No complaints.

One thing that it has accomplished, we didn't have to finish filling the pond! The rain has taken care of that. Thankful that we had some rocks in place to hold the pond liner. It is full!

As soon as the rain permits (I'm not going out there in this downpour!), I'll check the temp so I can start transferring mosquito fish and plants.

I was a bad girl. DH made 3 loaves of zucchini bread. Two will go to work with him tomorrow . . . but the other one will undoubtedly disappear. I'd better call some of my neighbors and make plans for a brunch tomorrow!!!!!!!

I am so happy that my sweetheart was home this week. We got so much accomplished and had a lot of fun times together. Despite the rain.

What do you have to be thankful for today?

I am thankful for so many things! SparkPeople, my Sparkfriends, my loving husband, my 2 felines, my comfortable life, etc,etc,etc....

but the first thing that entered my head was that I'm thankful that zucchini loaf is at YOUR house and not mine! lol lol

Congratulations on getting all your landscaping down with a little help from the "higher ups!" emoticon

I'm thankful I still have my mom, and my houseplant starts are still growing (green thumb not inherited from my mom!). Enjoy your zucchini bread for me. My favorite is Chocolate Zucchini Bread.

Have a great time with your husband and finishing your pond.

Are any of the fires still going? You haven't mentioned them lately and so I'm thinking not.

A few weeks ago I made Banana Bread while I was babystitting for my DD. I made one loaf for each for then and one for us. I knew it would be spell trouble for me. I love those kind of breads! I remember from W.W. that just one slice counted as 4 points. Geeez! My DH isn't attracted to these kind of treats at all. He will have 1 or 2 slices and then let the loaf sit there until it spoils. Not me! I could eat the entire loaf all by myself in no time. And that is exactly what happened.

We road all day on Saturday. DH had put a group ride together for one of the Chapters we belong to. It was a beautiful day for a ride and we did a total of 240 miles. All of that leg down, leg up, and shifting really did a job on my left leg and hip. We got together with friends that night for dinner and then desert and drinks around the campfire. Oh, oh!

On Sunday it was another beautiful day. I wanted to go for a walk so badly, but I knew I would be in trouble with my P.T. if I did and ended up with problems. So I used the time to clean up some paper work that had been sitting on my dining room table for weeks. I am thankful to be done with that project!

I love the idea of finding the good in a day, a moment. My moment is coffee while posting this (-:

I am thankful that we had a warm RV with lots of blankets and hot coffee after battling the storm in Wolf Creek yesterday. Today as it drizzles, I fold nice warm laundry and drink hot coffee. Mmmmm!
