I've blogged before about the lovely family that lives a few doors over from me, the ones who helped me get my laundry into the house when I was worn out after a major laundromat run. Last night the wife came by with their little girl. She came to give me some of her homemade tamales! Guess how long those tamales lasted? That's right, they were part of my dinner. But as to how the problems got solved, first of all I offered her my boxes of Barilla pasta (yes, that's who my problem is with) and she accepted (gotta feed the kid). Paul, I completely acknowledge your view but I respectfully disagree. I felt his remarks were homophobic and sexist. But we can agree to disagree with no bad feelings.
Then I asked her if she'd be willing, a couple of times a month for a little money, to take my laundry to the apartment laundry room and wash them for me. She agreed. This will work out very well for both of us. I really need to bake them a batch of cookies ASAP.
Right now I'm watching Chopped and eating a Chobani yogurt for dessert. I never thought I'd consider yogurt a dessert, but Chobani or Fage Fruyo make fantastic desserts. The calcium and protein don't hurt, either.
Monday is month-end, always the nuttiest day of the month in my office. Got to get my rest tomorrow, because Monday I might even be there until midnight. Oy...
