My big Segway Workout!!

Sunday, September 29, 2013

I rode a Segway PT (personal transport) this last Friday!

We were in Branson and waiting for hotel room to become available, so we went to the Segway Adventure (south of the Titanic.).

After signing our lives away (liability release forms) and paying the fees, we were taken out for a quick lesson and practice period before our time began. Then about 15 minutes into our "time", the trainer said we were doing well enough to get the devices switched out of "beginner mode" and into an advanced mode, giving us greater country.

Now, for me, having not really ever played with the Segway mode on the Wii Fit Plus games, it really did take some careful practice to balance - as balance isn't my strong suit. And after our "20 minutes" that we paid for (more like 30-35 min!), I could feel the workout in my legs, core, abdominal muscles etc. it was way more fun than doing crunches or sit-ups. It's also more expensive than Coach Nicole's DVD's...

Here's what I wrote on the hall of fame after we returned.

I didn't get any video of me gliding along - will have to get that next time I'm in Branson (or next opportunity to ride a Segway wherever I am?).

(I'm on my phone, so I will have to fix the upside down photo later. Not sure why iPhone switched them around before uploading?!).

It sounds fun. Maybe one day I can convince hubby to get me one. I don't have a wii yet.

I have heard of them but never been on one. Sounds like a lot of fun! I need to rent one to see if I can physically do it with my MS. Thanks so much for sharing. Pretty cool! emoticon
