Fitness: Pent Up Demand!!

Saturday, September 28, 2013

I've been working waaaay too hard for many weeks. Tracking nutrition has been steady but I haven't been able to get to the gym as much as I like.

This past week I had had no exercise since last Sunday's golf game (stamping around the course briskly in less than 4 hours!).

But the hearing I'd been prepping for happened Friday -- didn't sleep well last night after, still wound up -- and nevertheless went to the gym today.

It was fabulous!! Huge surge of energy on the elliptical. Loved the upper body strength training -- and my arms and shoulders feel tingly great. Came home, had a healthy lunch, sat in the sun on the back deck with Charlie reading the newspaper (that's me reading, him snoozing . . . ) and then slid off to bed to snooze myself, waking at 7 pm having neglected Charlie's 5 pm supper. He had been waiting patiently, curled up beside me -- didn't disturb me -- I guess he knew I was exhausted!

All the time I slept, I had a huge pot of turkey bones simmering on the stove to prep home made broth for tomorrow's soup -- nothing beats excellent broth as a soup base.

And tomorrow I'll heading out to the woods to see if the fringed gentians are in bloom.

It sounds like a great workout and a needed one. I am glad you got a nap. My cats are my companions. How nice you have Charlie. Hope your work load is decreasing. Have a great walk. Loved the flower.

I know the feeling so well!

I also know that you are going to love soaking up the outdoors in the woods just as much as I am on our bike club's big day of cycling today...woo hoo!

Viva la SPARK! :-)

Sleep is good and I finally had a couple if good ones myself. Sure was kind of Charlie to cuddle instead of bug you for supper. Now a cat would not have likely been so kind lol.

Great workout, working out all that energy! So glad that hearing is over and the pressure on you is reduced. In some respects, I suspect you thrive on that pressure, but on the other hand, you'll be able to take better care of yourself now. You'll do it, too. Hoping that the work-lifestyle ratio will be in better balance at least for quite a while. You really do deserve to take great care of yourself!!
