Fitness: Pent Up Demand!!

I've been working waaaay too hard for many weeks. Tracking nutrition has been steady but I haven't been able to get to the gym as much as I like.

This past week I had had no exercise since last Sunday's golf game (stamping around the course briskly in less than 4 hours!).

But the hearing I'd been prepping for happened Friday -- didn't sleep well last night after, still wound up -- and nevertheless went to the gym today.

It was fabulous!! Huge surge of energy on the elliptical. Loved the upper body strength training -- and my arms and shoulders feel tingly great. Came home, had a healthy lunch, sat in the sun on the back deck with Charlie reading the newspaper (that's me reading, him snoozing . . . ) and then slid off to bed to snooze myself, waking at 7 pm having neglected Charlie's 5 pm supper. He had been waiting patiently, curled up beside me -- didn't disturb me -- I guess he knew I was exhausted!

All the time I slept, I had a huge pot of turkey bones simmering on the stove to prep home made broth for tomorrow's soup -- nothing beats excellent broth as a soup base.

And tomorrow I'll heading out to the woods to see if the fringed gentians are in bloom.
