As I get closer to my goal weight, my scale victories are few and far between. Today I had a NSV (non-scale victory). Yesterday we closed our pool and part of that task is putting the safety cover on. The pool is good size and the cover is heavy. In years past my back has ached during the procedure and the days after. Today (not to jinx myself) not even a twinge.
I attribute this to my sessions with the training and my daily activity and strength training. I use to do daily exercises for my back but have gotten away from them. Each of my training sessions include core exercises, which apparently are working, and are followed up with stretching and foam roller torture.
On another note
Hubby and I went on a walking tour of our town's historic district. It was interesting and even I, a lifelong resident, learned some things that I didn't know. We started at the town common and then walked over to the Art Council building (which use to be a religious meeting hall) and then over to the cemetery. The tour guide pointed out the graves of some notable town residents. After the tour ended, we walked over to the old(er) burial grounds and looked at the stones. Many were difficult to read.
As we had walked to the event to begin with, we walked home.
Lunch and grocery shopping followed, and then a nap for me. I was exhausted.
Today's step count is over 16,000 and I am counting it as training for the 10K in two weeks!
