This month we are changing things up just a little.
First we are bring back some old favorites!!!
Go for the Gold Fitness Challenge!!!
The goal here is to track Octobers's exercise minutes and reach one of the medal levels.
SparkPeople Goodie medals will be awarded to those who achieve one of the levels.
Gold Medal - 2000 plus minutes
Silver Medal - 1500 plus minutes
Bronze Medal - 1000 plus minutes
Last Sparker Standing for Septem ber
Sign up for this one! Weigh in on September 4, 22, 18 & 25. If you weight is lower than the previous weigh in - you stay and if you have not lost weight - you are out. Let's see how many of us can end the month on a losing streak.

Sit Up, Push Up, Change Up Challenge
This one is going to be a lot more fun than it sounds!!!
This challenge is a 30 day challenge - can you for 30 days commit to 3 minutes a day of exercise? Really folks - can you? Well, lets see you do it! For 30 Days in October (THATS RIGHT - YOU GET A DAY OFF)
1 minute of sit ups,
1 minute of push ups,
for the Change up do one minute of any of these exercises (jumping jacks, squats, toe touches, stairs, running).
Let's show everyone our progress by posting how many we can do a minute. BUT.. No BUTS - I can not do a real push up so I will do a modified push up. Modify the exercise to meet your needs.
Step Outside of Your Comfort Zone Challenge
Like many of us I have withdrawn into a comfort zone. Time to snap out of it!!!
October 1-5 You must post three compliments for yourself each day i.e. I have a nice smile, I am kind, I have sexy feet... (Most over weight people have a lot of self esteem issues and find this difficult, but empowering.)
October 6-12 Comment on a blog or Sparkpage of someone you do not know. Easiest way to do this is to welcome a newbie and invite them to our team!
October 13-19 Every day try a new activity or exercise machine. (I don't lift weights so I may left weights everyday this week to fulfill this).
October 20-26 Try eating healthy - we are talking 5 servings of fruits and vegetables. Make it fun and add something new to the mix. List any new things you try so we can see how creative our team is. Maybe you can try something you never tried because you thought you wouldn't like. Remember getting out of your Comfort Zone is our theme !!!!
October 27-31 Each day this week you must commit a random act of kindness that has to be health related. Examples could be: Provide a healthy snack for your co-workers, post a healthy recipe on this thread, walk a neighbor's dog for them, give you significant other a massage. There are probably 100's of ideas that fit our "Healthy random act of kindness" theme. I think it would be fun to see what people come up with. How about giving away the left over Halloween candy to someone else!
Finally for our Streakers - we will keep the streak forums going!!!
SUMMER TIME STREAKING!!!
The goal here is to develop good habits by doing an activity everyday for 10 days.
Fitness Streak - Exercise 30 minutes 10 days in a row
Fruit & Veggie Streak - 3 servings of fruit and vegetables 10 days in a row
Healthy Eating Streak - Calories at or below lower limit recommended by Sparks 10 days in a row
THE STREAK - This is simple - state what you minimal exercise goal is (20 minutes) and maximum calories (for me 3000) and post frequently what day your streak is at. Break the streak - start over.
