Yesterday I did my first practice run (OK, jog/walk) for the upcoming 5K Color Run October 19th, which I shilled in my previous blog.
I felt so bummed at the end of my practice run because I only made it 2x around the lake and it took me 70 minutes, and I had to stop due to blisters.
I had "guesstimated" the distance around the lake to be about 3/4 mile, which would have meant that I only ran 1.5 mi. (5K = 3.1 mi)
However, I just mapped the route in the SP fitness route tool and it turns out that each loop is really 1.45 mi / 2.34 km! So the total distance, including home to the lake and around the lake twice, is 3.43 miles / 5.52km.
Woohoo, that means I already did 5K, GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and by the way, since I've been bicycling almost exclusively for weeks now, I can also attest that jogging uses different parts of the muscle... owwwwww...
