I have no idea what I weigh

Friday, September 27, 2013

I thought having a permanent spot for the scale would alleviate this problem... guess not!

Weights this morning (multiple due to adjusting the scale after accidentally kicking or shifting it):

253.7
255.6
251.7

...?

I need to figure this out. Maybe putting something under it. I searched in vain for an old school scale that has a "platform" bottom instead of the little feet; no luck.

Hey scale manufacturers,

Most people keep their scale in the bathroom.
Bathrooms usually have tile floors.
Your scales have individual little feet.

Guess what doess not sit well on tile?

Your idiotic product.

Just sayin.

Love,
Turtle

Also, I have tile, but I ALWAYS line it up in EXACT same spot. Usually this works well. If I find that I am getting a lot of different readings, I replace the battery and that alleviates the problem.

Super frustrating. I have a digital scale and it's no vinyl but still, it can be somewhat inconsistent. Within 1 lb though. What I end up doing is getting on an off it about 15 times on weigh-in day. And I weigh 30 seconds between each time so that it resets itself. Then I take the average or the most common # that comes up. It's a totally scientific approach as far as I'm concerned.

Then again, maybe you just need to buy a new scale.

That has to be soo frustrating! I hope mine is pretty accurate, all of the tiles in my bathroom and kitchen are just a bit larger than my scale. Unfortunately I don't trust the rest of my house with my scale. It's all carpet!

I keep mine in the kitchen and it's digital, so it's fairly constant. (vinyl flooring) I know they say tile and carpet are the least reliable surfaces for an accurate reading...keep working on it. emoticon
