One loom good, two looms not so good

Thursday, September 26, 2013

My principal loom was in fine shape. (The one in yesterday's entry.) The two looms in the loom house needed a lot of work. One needed to be retied so someone could weave. That I accomplished in about 20 minutes. But then I noticed that several things were not performing well. I made a few changes about how the shafts were connected to the treadles and now it works much better.

Then I moved to the smaller loom that I and Emily had fought with for two years. And something clicked! I purchased new chains to connect the shafts to the treadles--longer ones. Tomorrow morning early (about 7:45am) I will be crawling on the floor to make the change so someone (probably me) can demonstrate weaving on that loom Friday and Saturday.

I came home to ransack my stash for materials to weave on both those looms. I have things--do not know how they will look until I do a bit of weaving. I also do not know if anyone else will be weaving in the loom house or if it will just be me, bouncing back and forth between the two locations.

That will make the rug on my main loom last longer! emoticon I did not realize that I have only about 30 inches more!

WOW what fun. Nice to be almost done!

I have got to try walking Pokey with a stick haha, I want to take him to
the local school for the church kids, they love him and that would be
so FUNNY (to me) if I was walking him around like an elephant.
