PROMPT: Do you ever feel like you have to do it all and you have to do it right NOW? How does that make you feel? How do you think that impacts your ability to accomplish your goals? Do you ever fall in the trap of wanting instant gratification when it comes to the area you are focusing on? What are some ways you could deal with those feelings and remind yourself that progress is in the BABY steps? :) Do you expect yourself to devote large amounts of time or effort to your goals every single day? How do you think that could be holding you back? What would happen if you lessened the amount of time and effort you required of yourself so it felt more manageable? Do you get caught up in black and white thinking (having to do it all or nothing at all)? What would happen if you made an effort to create some grey in your life and found some moderation of the two? What would happened if you used overwhelm as a sign that you needed to scale back your plan? How much more do you think you would get accomplished?
RESPONSE: lol I am the QUEEN of do it all and do it all now! I see the end product in my head, but it's very hard for me to slow down, make a plan, and delegate various steps to others. (Although I am really good at delegating the things that I don't want to do
) This attitude often leaves me feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the amount of time it's taking me to complete the project. I know it hinders the project when I'm holding the controls so tightly. I need to slow down and develop a THOROUGH plan for completing my larger projects and identify the areas I can delegate to others. I then need to focus on the progress made that day and not look at how far I still have to go. If I follow this plan, I think I would be surprised at how fast the project was progressing and would be looking forward to work instead of dreading it.
