Gorgeous, crisp fall day with not a cloud in the sky
That made my early morning walk a real treat. Love days like this. I covered my 3.5 miles in less time than normal (OK, 5 minutes faster) and that always feels good.
Good things going on today. Even though I consumed more than I should have last night (I would have been fine if I would have passed on a small piece of cherry pie with a little ice cream) I tracked like a trouper and managed to stay within my target calories for the day. (My tracking day starts with my evening meal so I'm done for the day after lunch!) Gotta admit it was a very close call but
I've invited some girlfriends over for dinner tonight. One is a vegetarian and the other doesn't eat red meat so they are perfect guests together. You go vegetarian basically and that's good for everyone concerned. I bought some homemade fettucine and will toss that with my garden fresh (and end of the season) Indigo Rose cherry tomatoes and basil. Has anyone tried these heirlooms? They are gorgeous - purple/black on the top with a rose bottom. Taste is great too. Anyway, that and some parmesan cheese tossed with the fettucine, then grilled eggplant with an oil, vinegar, gold raisin, capers and red pepper flakes sauce as a side. Simple to put it together and then we'll just have fun. Looking forward to it but still have to run to the grocery store for a few last minute things.
I have to squeeze in my extra 15 minutes of exercise today. This is one of those days where I'd really rather skip it but that's a commitment I've made to myself and there's no reason why I CAN'T make that happen if I evaluate my schedule this afternoon and to quote Nike, Just DO IT before 4PM! (actually Nike said nothing about 4PM - that's my own challenge today.)
That's about it. Doing OK with the basics and continue to need to pay a LOT of attention to the 3 things I'm changing up. I'm in this for the long haul.
