Day 180 - Walked 2 Miles; Still Frustrated!

I walked 2 miles with a slight limp. The first mile was pretty good and I thought I could handle another mile with minimal pain to my foot. About half way around the subdivision, the pain increased. By the time I got home, I was definitely feeling it and limping a lot. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I am so frustrated with this foot sprain!

I probably shouldn't be walking much on it but I am going crazy sitting around and being so bored...I gained 4 pounds now in 10 days! That is so ridiculous!

I fight tooth and nail to lose a pound a week and I can easily gain 4 pounds in slightly over a week! That seems so unfair!

My Monday starts today with a double shift tomorrow. So I do not anticipate walking much until Monday. I am praying that my foot is 100% pain free to where I can run again! I seriously need to get back on my exercise program!

I think that if I sprain my ankle / foot again, I will take my exercise swimming laps at the local gym...

    I'm no Dr., but maybe you are using your foot too much while it heals. Do you have a bike you can ride in the meantime? Or maybe some strength training or swimming? I too, gained a lot of weight when I came down with an illness and stopped being active. Concentrate on your diet until you can walk/run again. I know how frustrating it is. I gain weight so easily and it takes forever to lose. Keep a positive attitude. You'll get back where you were! emoticon emoticon

    Great idea with switching to swimming. I was thinking the same thing--try a different exercise that doesn't stress your ankle. What about sit ups, arm weight lifting, and the like? So sorry you are struggling with this. I can understand why you are frustrated. I gained a lot of weight when my illness hit me and I couldn't be active. Over a several year period I put on about 80 lbs. as I slowly became less and less active to the point I was nearly housebound and sedentary. I am now trying to recover from this mess. I am weak and overweight and it is quite a battle. Hope you are back to 100% soon!
