Already my list of "What To Do When You're Discouraged" has come in handy. I was surprised that it wasn't used for me but for someone else. When we were discussing things that we've done for ourselves, last week at my Weight Watcher's meeting, I mentioned that I had a discouraging day and that I made myself a list of things that I could do to get through it. A very nice woman sitting a few seats from me asked if I would print off a copy for her. She said that she was getting discouraged and sometimes felt like, "What's the use, I'm not getting anywhere." The Weight Watchers leader said that she'd like to have a copy too. I was delighted at the prospect of helping!
Yesterday, was my weigh in day. I remembered to take two copies of my "What To Do When You're Discouraged" blog to the meeting. Our leader read it and told me with a smile that a lot of the items on the list looked familiar. I laughed because between Spark People and Weight Watchers, I've gotten some great ideas. I said as much to the leader and she said, "See, it's working!" She was so right! When I gave a copy of the blog to the woman who was discouraged, you would have thought that I'd given her the key to the city. She was so grateful that I was embarrassed. You never know when you can spread the "Spark" to another person.
