the shortest line

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Honestly , I am aggravated. I spent two hours in the Ready care clinic this morning. Where they promptly informed that my acute sinus infection of two weeks ago is now chronic. My reward for this is: eyes that are burning and swollen badly, ears that feel like if you put a Q-tip in them the will burst, and my head in general well I am sure a vice grip would feel better. not to mention the lovely shot in the rear of steroids. Followed up with a super strong antibiotic and another decongestant for night time use only because it is going to knock me out. Now if someone will tell Mother Nature to cool her heels and leave it one season for more than one day I would greatly appreciate it.

Now what i am going to tell you will shock you so hold on to your pants. On the way home I stopped at KFC and got myself lunch. Oh i know the horror of all that fat in the fried chicken. Then I came in took a short nap and started reading blogs from spark people. So I want to tell you why I stopped at KFC . The drive through line was the shortest. It was noon and the lunch crowds were out. I didnt stop because i was driven to some binge . Or that fried chicken was going to miraculously feel better . I hadnt had breakfast and I was shakey and needed some sort of something and didnt feel like whooping up something when i got home. So there you have it just a day in a life. I know earth shattering but not every decision we make about food comes down to life or death it is just something to eat.

in reading the blogs i need to vent this off my chest .
1. take pictures often so you can see the differences
2. peace from inside finds beauty every where
3. never weigh yourself in the morning and in the evening .. you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
4. the calories you eat today dont undo the calories you ate yesterday ... it takes more than 12 hours to work off the damage of a day.
5. Be kind to yourself under all circumstances for the world only give to you what it sees you give to yourself
6. push but good sake know when to stop.
7. dont rely on mechanical devices to show your progress believe in yourself.
8. 10 minutes is good but 20 is better unless you have chronic sinus infection then 5 is great.

ok that is my rant ... no productive or positive but it is honest ... hope you are doing better than me today .

I still have remnants of my sinus infection I've had all summer, yes, that long, so can relate to your suffering! Seems this year is the year of the sinus or something. UGH!

I use saline solution in my nose and steam from a hot shower. I learned how to massage my sinus from Youtube (it helped!) and take ibuprofen for the swelling ...

Hope you improve soon as this can be so zapping to the mind and body.

Nothing wrong with a little KFC every now and again. As you've said before, it's a lifestyle, not a diet - I feel the same way. Part of the lifestyle is the reality that it's not like we will never pick up a piece of fried chicken ever again.

I look at it as: as long as I fully enjoy what I am eating, then eating something not so good for me occasionally is fine. I try not to wolf it down, I figure if I'm going to eat those calories then I should do it slowly and enjoy the food and make it worth it.

I hope you feel better soon, that infection just doesn't want to leave you alone. I hope it goes away or at least lessens ASAP.

So sorry to hear about your sinus infection. I hope you feel better soon. Good reminders to all of us in your "venting". I don't think I've taken any pictures of myself intentionally since I've really rededicated myself to getting healthier and losing this weight, I usually tend to avoid cameras like the plaque. I can see the difference in the scale and in smaller clothes, but having pictures to show me would definitely be a big motivation (not only to keep me moving forward, but to not move backwards).

I am so sorry you're sick. I've had a chronic sinus infection before and it knocked me off my butt!! I had a migraine today and after it broke I ate a Sonic junior burger (no cheese) because that is the only thing I can stomach after a migraine. If we make wise choices most of the time, it's okay to budget for the occasional indulgence.
    You go girl!!

We had fish and chips the other night because my husband had a 5pm doctors appointment, we'd had a busy day with no time to prepare ahead, and he could get them while I went to the chemist for the prescriptions before the shop closed. Sometimes, as you say, the reasons for food choices are not to do with anything other than the convenience of the moment. PS. We have them rarely, so they tasted divine!

Darlene I have fried chicken at least once a is my favorite food. I've done this ever since I began my new lifestyle. and as of today I have lost 76 pounds. As long as you account for it, it is not a "bad" food.

I hope you enjoyed it and don't be hard on yourself....I hope you feel better soon

Hey, you ate for nourishment, not emotionally,,, that is one way to see it.. I am so happy I was not with you though: I could clean them out when it comes to that darned coleslaw!!!!!!!!!! I can leave the fake spuds, gravy and biscuits, but that darned slaw and chicken are my downfall. I live three blocks form "The Strip" and KFC is right there under my nose.. Probably thirty places to chow down in two miles,so hard to keep on driving...
I have not eaten with the Colonel in over five years..
