September is almost over, and I have to say that the #backontrack team has been stupendous! It took August to get the right attitude and the right focus, then September to put all I learned to good use. I have just amazed myself at how my body is reacting to good food and exercise. Or, more importantly, more consistent good eating and exercise.
I have my beginning weight and measurements from the 1st of September, then will compare on the 1st of October. Yes, I have had successes, now to see what improvements I've made to the measurements.
In the meantime, a SP friend has introduced me to Dietbet. Now I usually don't throw numbers out here, too direct and revealing, but this won't make sense unless I use the real numbers. So, here it goes.
I signed up for Jillian Michaels' Dietbet that started yesterday, 9/24/13. The official weigh-in opened 9/22/13. I got on the scale in my "airport security" attire, took the picture of the scale, and the full-length picture, and submitted a starting weight of 218.8.
I also signed up for a smaller Dietbet group that started today, 9/25/13. The official weigh-in opened 9/23/13. I did the same, but had to take an entirely separate set of pictures. That being said, 24 hours later, my starting weight for Dietbet #2 is 218.2. Down 0.6lbs in 24 hours!!
Dietbet is run by judges and referees who take their responsibilities seriously, and my pictures for Dietbet #2 were not clear enough so I had to re-submit. I couldn't get to it until I got home from work, but I figured that would be fine as I had been weighing in for these starting weights in the late afternoon/evening time, when our bodies are usually at their heaviest. So, for my next set of pictures I got on the scale for the 3rd day in a row, and weighed in at 217.2! 24 hours and a whole pound down again!
I astounded myself!!
Luckily, I resubmitted better images of my Dietbet #2 pictures and they took the 218.2 as my starting weight! I start this challenge and its like the weight is just falling off! Too funny!
This morning (yes, morning weight is usually less that afternoon/evening weight) I weighed in at 214.2!
DH is now worried that I will lose too much and be disqualified.
But, we all know that this too shall pass, and I will level out. Its just very exciting to have these continued successes after learning a good plan in August, following the good plan in September, and seeing successes going into October.
When I told my family about the Dietbets, they were like "eat up" start with a higher number! Thinking that means more success.
Something I have really truly learned from SP is that once you have the streak down, don't break the streak! Its like bad luck or something. I had formed some really good habits and did not want to break my momentum. So, here I am, in a race with myself to lose 4% over the next 28 days!
I will keep blogging as I move along in this journey. Maybe my successes (I hope) will incite someone else to come along for the next competition.
