So I have made up my mind to stay away from refined sugars for a while. It's easier for me to give up sweets and stay on track if I do a "sugar fast". I accomplish this by eating clean (for the most part).
Today we have a dessert competition at the office. Really? Come on guys?! :)
I didn't make a dessert because frankly I don't want any temptations but they'll be all over the place today. I resisted gooey butter cake and brownies yesterday, isn't that enough of a test of my resolve? Well I'm not going to break that. I don't have any fruit left but lemons but I do have fresh veggies in the refrigerator. We have catered lunch today of ball park food so I'm going to do my best to keep it under control without being a party pooper.
It's all about moderation and portion control on days like this. My goal is to lose the weight and get healthy and to be able to do it and still participate in life. Pizza and hot dogs are going to happen and I'm going to want a beer occasionally so I have to know how to incorporate these things into my diet and still stay ahead of the curve.
