I am SO proud of myself! Another 3.25 pounds gone!
So that means in my first 2 weeks of re-starting SparkPeople, I've lost 9.25 pounds!
Now, don't get me wrong - I am SUPER happy about the weight loss. But it makes me wonder why so much is coming off these first 2 weeks when I know the healthy weight loss goal per week is 2 pounds. I mean, I'm not starving myself or anything like that - I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and I snack a few times in between. And I don't come in below my nutrition goals at the end of the day or anything - sometimes I actually go over a little.
So it makes me wonder - before I re-started SP, was I eating SO many calories per day that now my body's in, like, shock-mode and burning the heck outta my stored fat or something? I mean, before my re-start, I didn't do any kind of portion control whatsoever. And I didn't watch what I ate. And I snacked whenever I wanted to on whatever I felt like. So I imagine my caloric intake each day was probably double (or almost double) what it is now. Maybe even more than that, for all I know.
So is it possible that my body is still adjusting to my new daily nutrition intake, and therefore I'm dropping the pounds like a boss until my body fully adjusts? Because it's not like I'm working out everyday now or anything like that.... ?
Well, regardless of the reason, I'll absolutely celebrate saying goodbye to those 9.25 pounds! And I won't let my mind get stuck on the results from the last two weeks and create a false expectation for future weigh-ins. I know a healthy (and reasonable) expectation when I step on that scale on Weigh-in Wednesdays is to hope for, like, 2 pounds gone. I'm just going to try my hardest and hope for the best!!!
