Day 664- My Sparkfriends Really Do Know Best

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Thank you Sparkfriends for your logical responses and calming words. After being down to 178.6, seeing 187.0 only a few days later was really a shock to my system.

But as you all said, it was a lot of bloat that is slowly coming off. This morning, I saw 181.2, down 3 pounds since yesterday morning's weigh in.

It's amazing that after almost 2 years of doing this, I still let the scale affect me mentally.

How many blogs have I written about my love-hate relationship with the scale, and how many of my sparkfriends have told me not to worry.

I knew yesterday looking in the mirror that I didn't actually gain 7 pounds. I could still see the difference in my face and pants. I just didn't like how close I was getting back to the 190s after almost a year there. But I'm almost back in the 170s and am going to fight to get there by next week.

Long story short, you, my Sparkfriends, are awesome. You keep me grounded and focused when I feel like I'm going crazy. And I really appreciate that.

Happy Humpday!

You will make it. My worst enemies is the scale. I do not step on one. My scale is the 5 size of jeans that I have dropped. I am delighted every time I take my dress work clothes to the consignment shop. Some of my jackets and tops were only worn one or two times when they were too large Scales I do not need as the number tend to depress me. Years ago I was given an eating plan and told that I had to record my weight when I got up at mid day and again before going to bed That was a bummer.

It is so hard to break that scale-dependent mentality. I hope you can be happy with your healthy habits no matter what the scale says. emoticon emoticon

That bloating problem with me is caused by edema and my blood pressure is so low, it is very difficult to attack the problem with a vengeance. It is coming off a little bit a day, but it is a slow process.

Good for you to getting it under control.

The scale can be so frustrating at times...it's so good that you recognized it was just bloating and that the scale isn't the only indication of progress!

SparkFriends are definitely the best! emoticon

Yep, water bloat is the anti-NSV!! Just lay off the salt and processed foods, eat lots of greens to pull it out ... Keep on working out and drinking lots of water (seems counter-intuitive but it is possible to bloat from not enough water ...)

emoticon that's the direction scales should go - straight out the window!!

Exactly girl. I hate the scales. I really want to know how much I weigh though. I keep telling myself that it is in the clothes and measuring tape but daggone it those scales keep calling my name. They are my friend when I drop and against me when I gain because I betray them with food. I exercise my hardest but when I overeat those scales tell me just what they thank of me, that I am not over my love of food yet. Someday though I will learn to trust those scales in what they are telling me. That food is only for energy and health, not a hobby and that only natural occurances are allowed to raise that needle. Thank-you for sharing your own thoughts and agony. It is a reminder to me that I am not the only one.

Keep listening....we are here to set you straight while you go all crazy! Scales schmales... If the pants fit and the tape measure is moving in the right direction, you're shrinking ! Who cares what that stupid scale says! We are women...are bodies are minefields - very unreliable and trigger happy...salt, water, hormones, sugar...standing on your head...floor is slanted, seriously...you can move my scale all over my bathroom and it will say something different 5lbs difference 1 inch to the next! Not even kidding a little. :) enjoy your success and keep on shaking your shrinking booty! Xo
