One Must Ask Themselves...

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

"What tastes better? Those cookies you wanted for an hour, or the body you have wanted your entire life"?

I saw this on a picture on Pintrest, and it really hit home with me. In fact, it is really hitting home with me right now as there in an open package of double stuff fudge filled Oreos sitting right next to me.

So which is it? One would think that it would be an easy descision, but it isn't. I actually just went to the bathroom to look at myself. I know it sounds silly, but if I go look at myself, and see what I have accomplished, then those cookies don't seem like such a big deal

**edit**
I guess I should have mentioned the reason there is an open package of oreos next to me is because I am at work, and my "desk buddy" left them out. (She works daylight shift, I work night shift and we share a station)

I put them in a baggie and stowed them in her drawer and sent her an email letting her know where they are at, but I know they are there. Also it is very common for her and I to help ourselves to one anothers snacks, pens, notebooks and so on. Not only are we "desk buddies" but we are also very close friends outside of the office.

You have a good attitude. Sure, if you REALLY wanted some oreos you could try to fit them into your calorie budget for the day and do a little extra exercise. But the point is balance and giving snacks the attention, not just eating them cuz they're yummy and there.

Thanks for the reminder that sometimes it really is a moment by moment thing.

In one of your blogs you talked about 'constant vigilance'. I immediately wrote that down in my food log in red pen and highlighted it in neon pink. It's become one of my fav watch phrases.

I LOVE your spirit!

You are a champion. I ate a packet of oreo-like biscuits the over the course of two days, and I regretted it...
Bless you

I love that you can go look at yourself and see your accomplishments and feel empowered. That's so awesome! I hope I can do that someday!

Why is there an open package of double stuff fudge filled Oreos sitting next to you? Are you conducting an experiment? Do you know what happens when you play with fire? Do you know when you mention "Oreos" the fire spreads? You're flirting with disaster. I don't think I could resist the temptation.
